To thoroughly and effectively carry out the series of activities for the 25th National “Work Safety Month,” closely aligned with the annual theme of “Everyone Talks Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies—Identifying and Rectifying Risks and Hidden Dangers,” Shanxi Juxian Graphite New Materials Co., Ltd. solemnly held its 2026 Work Safety Month themed speech contest on June 27 in Conference Room No. 6 of the Group. Zhang Xiangjun, President of the Group, along with the senior management team, attended the event. Employees from various Group centers and frontline representatives from each subsidiary plant were present to watch the competition.

Before the competition began, Xiao Guohong, the Group’s Director of Equipment, delivered the opening remarks and offered a pre‑competition message to all participants. He emphasized that carbon product manufacturing involves complex processes, high‑temperature equipment, and numerous hazards in material handling; therefore, workplace safety is never merely a slogan, but a fundamental principle embedded in every procedure and at every post. He expressed hope that through this speech contest, participants would take to the stage to share their genuine insights gained from daily inspections, standardized operations, and hazard identification, as well as to recount real‑world safety cases and emergency response experiences—spreading safety awareness through their voices and safeguarding the line of defense with their hearts—so that safety consciousness truly takes root in both mind and spirit. He also extended his best wishes for the complete success of the event, hoping that all contestants would perform brilliantly and achieve their desired results.

At 9:30 a.m., the thematic speech contest for Safety Production Month officially commenced. The atmosphere at the venue was both solemn and enthusiastic. Drawing on the realities of carbon‑industry production, the contestants shared their personal experiences, highlighted typical safety‑warning cases, and recounted stories of routine hazard‑identification efforts, using sincere and impassioned language to underscore their sense of safety responsibility. Some focused on high‑temperature operations in calcining furnaces and inspections of flue‑gas pipelines, dissecting the grave risks posed by habitual violations and a fatalistic mindset. Others, young employees, addressed equipment maintenance, fire‑safety management, and dust‑control measures, offering practical insights gained from daily hazard‑spotting. Still others tied their remarks closely to the operation of safety management systems and the development of dual‑prevention mechanisms, emphasizing that “eliminating all hazards is safeguarding the lifeline.” Meanwhile, frontline operators, drawing on years of experience, contrasted the stark differences between accidents caused by rule‑breaking and those resulting from compliant procedures, urging all staff to abandon complacency and strictly adhere to operating protocols.

Among them, speeches such as “Accidents Are Mirrors, Reflecting Responsibility and Conscience,” “Tighten the String of Safety, Identify and Eliminate Hidden Dangers,” and “Uphold Safety at Your Post, Cherish Youth and Protect Family Reunions” closely tied to the specific characteristics of carbon‑production processes. They wove specialized safety knowledge—covering high‑temperature work protection, management of special equipment, emergency response procedures, and fire safety—into compelling narratives, balancing theoretical depth with practical workshop realities. These presentations vividly embodied the work ethos of “everyone is a safety officer, every place is a safety post,” resonating deeply with the audience and earning sustained applause. Following the competition, the Group’s Safety and Environmental Protection Center concluded the event with a musical recitation of “Back Home,” lending an especially heartfelt and moving tone to the final moments.

This event featured a professional judging panel composed of group executives, plant managers, and safety‑equipment experts, who conducted on‑site scoring across five key criteria: the substance of the presentation, verbal delivery, relevance to the job role, audience engagement, and mastery of safety knowledge. The entire evaluation process was fair and impartial. After fierce competition, Zhu Baitao from the Production Operations Center, Tian Wenxin from the Technology Center, and Cao Gongzhong from the Molding Plant were awarded third place; Han Long from the Office and Liu Hongyan from the Mechanical Processing Plant received second place; and Wang Haotian from the Graphitization Plant took home first prize. All other participants were recognized with “Participation Awards.” Finally, as everyone joined in singing “The Song of Gathering Talents,” the 2026 “Safety Production Month” themed speech contest at Juxian Graphite concluded successfully.

The successful conclusion of the Safety Month keynote speech contest has marked a significant milestone in the “Workplace Safety Month” series of publicity and education activities. Throughout the event, heartfelt messages were conveyed through eloquent delivery, and learning was reinforced by compelling presentations, ensuring that vivid safety case studies, profound safety principles, and unwavering safety responsibilities resonated deeply with participants. This effectively inspired all employees to take an active role in learning about, discussing, and upholding workplace safety, fostering a robust culture of “everyone prioritizing safety, everyone equipped to respond to emergencies.” Moving forward, we will seize this speech contest as an opportunity to further consolidate our achievements in safety awareness and education. We will institutionalize regular hazard identification and remediation efforts, conduct realistic emergency response drills, and translate what was learned, reflected upon, and internalized during the competition into concrete actions that fulfill our duties and responsibilities. At the same time, we will continue to strengthen accountability for workplace safety across all levels, refine job-specific safety management measures, address existing gaps in safety practices, and steadily fortify the company’s robust safety defenses, thereby providing solid support for high-quality, safe, and stable development.
