On April 15, 2026, Shanxi Juxian Graphite New Materials Co., Ltd. and the Jinling Branch of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation agreement on high-end graphite electrode materials and a plaque-awarding ceremony for an innovation base in Nanjing. In addition, the two companies entered into a four-party strategic cooperation agreement with Sinopec (Dalian) Petrochemical Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Refining & Marketing Co., Ltd. Under this agreement, the parties will focus on the R&D, production, and end-use applications of ultra-high-power graphite electrodes, thereby establishing an integrated, full-chain, and in-depth collaborative system that spans R&D, production, and application. Zhang Xiangjun, Secretary of the Party Branch and President of Juxian Graphite, Liu Yingxian, Director of Marketing, and other senior executives from the group attended the ceremony.

At present, China’s steel industry is accelerating its transformation toward green, low-carbon, and high-quality development, which will drive an explosive surge in demand for ultra-high-power graphite electrodes. Under this strategic cooperation, the four parties will leverage their respective technological strengths and industrial resources to conduct collaborative research and development on key areas such as raw-material optimization, process upgrading, performance enhancement, and downstream application expansion for large-size ultra-high-power graphite electrodes. As the primary electrode manufacturer, Juxian Graphite will take the lead in R&D and production implementation across the entire process—from forming and baking to impregnation, graphitization, and machining—and fully capitalize on its capacity advantages and extensive manufacturing experience in the production of large-size ultra-high-power graphite electrodes. The company will be responsible for scaling up the production of core products, precisely controlling product quality and production-delivery schedules, and expediting the commercialization of R&D outcomes. At the same time, drawing on its deep understanding of downstream application scenarios, Juxian Graphite will promptly provide feedback on changing market demands, thereby offering concrete guidance for adjusting upstream R&D priorities. Moving forward, the company will work with all partners to translate technological breakthroughs into practical applications, helping China’s ultra-high-power graphite electrode industry break through developmental bottlenecks and better align with the market needs of the steel industry’s green transformation.
