Juxian Graphite and Sinopec Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Needle Coke
Deepen exchanges and go hand in hand for win-win cooperation
On November 9, 2020, Zhang Xiangjun, general manager of Shanxi Juxian Graphite New Materials Co., Ltd., sincerely invited the Wang Yongbang expert team of Sinopec needle coke project to visit Juxian Graphite for a two-day visit, inspection and exchange.
The meeting includes needle coke inspection project benchmarking and technical exchange. According to the demand of high-end graphite materials, the quality index and performance requirements of needle coke products applicable to different specifications of graphite electrodes are proposed. The technical cooperation includes quality index detection, electrode adaptability process research, performance evaluation, and comparison with imported or domestic needle coke electrodes of the same specification to make suggestions for product quality improvement, shorten the trial production and trial period of Sinopec needle coke, carry out upstream and downstream technical exchanges, integrate the superior resources of production, marketing, research and use, and carry out cooperative discussions in the fields of new product development, testing and evaluation, application research, and industrialization transformation.
After friendly consultation, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the evaluation, demonstration application, supply and scientific research of graphite electrode oil needle coke products. In addition, under the framework of the oil-based needle coke standard for graphite electrodes (T/ZGTS002-2019), the agreement standard for oil-based needle coke for UHP electrodes of Juxian graphite was jointly formulated, and the quality assurance system for Sinopec needle coke production and Juxian graphite electrode processing and application was formulated, so as to jointly build a domestic high-quality graphite electrode brand.
