On August 27, a delegation led by Zhang Zesheng of Sinopec Group paid a visit to Shanxi Juxian Graphite New Materials Co., Ltd. for an inspection and research tour. The two sides held discussions on the progress of the four-party strategic cooperation agreement on high-end graphite electrode materials signed in April this year, with a particular focus on monitoring the real-world performance and application of jointly developed products at steel mills, thereby advancing comprehensive, end-to-end collaboration across the entire value chain—research and development, production, and application.

Accompanied by Zhang Xiangjun, President of Juxian Graphite Group, and other group executives, the inspection team visited the production workshops and testing laboratories, conducting on-site observations of the manufacturing process for ultra‑high‑power graphite electrodes and the quality‑control system. They gained a thorough understanding of the trial production and manufacturing of jointly developed products, as well as feedback from downstream steel mills regarding their operational performance. The team also engaged in on‑site discussions on product performance, real‑world operational adaptability, and avenues for process optimization.

At the symposium, leaders of Sinopec Group commended Juxian Graphite’s production and manufacturing capabilities and its robust quality‑control system. They pledged to leverage their strengths in raw‑material supply, research platforms, and market channels, continuously strengthen technological collaboration, work together to address practical challenges in product application, and jointly accelerate the commercialization and implementation of domestically produced high‑end graphite electrodes.

President Zhang Xiangjun stated that the company will firmly seize the strategic cooperation opportunities offered by the four parties, leveraging the comprehensive strengths of Sinopec’s Jinling Branch, Dalian Petrochemical Research Institute Co., Ltd., and the Refining & Marketing Company. The company will continue to refine product performance, closely focus on end‑use scenarios in steel plants, strengthen product iteration and upgrades, and establish a seamless closed loop spanning raw material R&D, production, and steel‑plant applications. This approach will help fortify and complement the high‑end carbon materials industry chain, fostering mutually beneficial outcomes across the upstream and downstream segments.
